Key Reasons
Peru remains one of the countries with the highest degree of
economic and social inequality in the world.
State education is failling.
Only 2.5% of GDP (2006) is spent on State Education. (UK is 5.6%)
Incredibly, approx. 30% of disadvantaged families in Villa María del Triunfo pay to send their children to private primary schools; they know the importance of education and are prepared to pay in order that their children will have better education and smaller class sizes.
The costs are between S/. 100 and S/. 200 pm. The minimum wage is approx S/. 700 pm.
(S/. 600 = approx. £100 pm or $200 pm)
45% in Villa María del Triunfo live on or below the poverty line.

Affordable Courses
Youth development Inclusive Performing Arts courses will be offered at the Centre to 1,600 disadvantaged school children per annum. (1.5 hrs per week to each child)
Courses will also be offered in Drama, Music, Modern & Folklore Dancing and Pre-Ballet.
All the courses will be given by professionally qualified teachers.

Affordable Productions
The Centre will offer a diverse range of productions in the Performing Arts from both the professional and community sectors in an auditorium seating 400 people.

Outreach Program
Youth Development
Inclusive
Performing Arts courses, Whole Class Drama courses and Theatrical Workshops will also be be offered to schools through our Outreach Program.

We will work with local agencies to offer a range of social projects to families in the local community.
